To address any and all concerns about my last post
I was not passing judgment upon anyone because of his/her actions. Only God knows the depths of the human heart, so I do not try to judge people. Everyone’s situation is different and we all have our unique views based upon experience and God’s grace working in our lives. All I was trying to say is that Christians should not be afraid to engage in thoughtful and honest conversations...

It’s the thinking of things you may never do and the doing of things you many never have thought. It’s the road ahead and the road behind. It’s the first step, the last step, and every step between that makes up the good life. smilingcurescancer (via defininghumanity) Being human is humbling, because it requires that one recognizes their mortality. onomatopoeiamania (via...

What does it mean to be human? →
A new blog I started that’s for all of you, my dear Tumblr people! The blog differs from the content of this blog in that it will be composed entirely of your submissions to the question, “What does it mean to be human?” Give it some thought and please submit. I think it would be cool to see what a lot of people have to say out this question that has infinite answers!

Hebrews 12
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of...

More.
I need to be more committed, devout, faithful, and loving. I need more of his grace to be evident in my words, thoughts, and actions. I need to be more honest about my doubts, failures, sins, and regrets. I need to be more mindful of the small moments of his grace breaking through the ordinary events of my daily life. I need to be more of the redemptive process of humanity. In fact, I need...

jesusfr3ak asked: I love your insight on theological and philosophical questions that are asked. You have the understanding of someone who has either lived quite a few years, or is just very close to God. (Or both.) How old are you? How long have you been a Christian?

Anonymous asked: Hello. First of all, thank you for your inspiring blog. I am new to tumblr, and very young, but somehow your page really connected with me. My question is how do you know when you truly are showing faith and love to God, or if you want to so badly that you've managed to convince yourself that you are a good believer. I guess what I'm saying is that I am afraid of not sensing the...

cestnestpasdemode asked: just to that person asking how God speaks to them: I'm a religious person, and I'm still not sure how. I feel a lot of guilt, but I'm not sure I have anything left to feel guilt about, and so I'm not sure if God makes me feel that way, or the adversary. I guess the best way to know for sure is to pray, and then maybe read the scriptures or mediate some.

Anonymous asked: Umm, hi there. I'm new to the whole religion scene, so bare with me... I'm trying to find out all about God and stuff like that, and I was just wondering how you and other people, should they read this question and/or answer with their own experiences... I was just wondering how God talks to you. Is it through dreams? Is it a real voice inside your head speaking actual words? Is it...

Anonymous asked: I love your blog. There is so much Christian-hate (hate on any religion, actually) on Tumblr and it is nice to see a somewhat support blog for a change. I'm sure you get a couple hate messages, so here is an anon love message. I'm not religious either, but I wish you luck on running your blog.

The Old & The New.
Look at my servant, whom I strengthen. He is my chosen one, who pleases me. I have put my Spirit upon him. He will bring justice to the nations. Isaiah 42:1 I have heard it said that Isaiah is, “The Fifth Gospel.”  I have to say that in some ways, this label is a misnomer due to the setting and immediate messages given in the text; however, when one reads the entirety of the...

The Word.
The funny thing you notice about the Bible is the more that you read it, the people in the Book are incredibly normal.  Sure, you hear in Sunday school about the great things that happened to these men and women because of their faith, but when you look closer you discover how much they are like you and me.  David had faith, but he stumbled along the way.  Moses lead Israel, but he did not want to...
